Crying Is For Sad People
There's a boy in Jersey Village
Who broke his neck in football.
Fighting for his life,
While I sit in my room and think about him,
A boy I never met,
And try not to cry even though I'm far from sad.
After all, crying is for sad people.
I want to have something bad happen to me.
Because then it wouldn't have happened to someone else,
And I would have a reason to cry.
Because crying is for sad people.
I want to have a boyfriend,
But I'm too scared to ask.
And I'm scared he won't like me back
And that things will be awkward.
And then I will cry.
And crying is for sad people.
I want to grow up,
And then go to college, to get smart.
I want to get a good job, and I also
Want to get married.
But that is so far in the future,
Only not, and that makes me want to cry,
Because I am scared.
Even though crying is for sad people.
I don't like seeing pain
Because pain is sad,
And I don't like to cry
And I don't like to be sad.
Crying is for sad people,
And I certainly don't want to be sad.
Maybe I will donate some money to him.
Perhaps I should be grateful for what I have and what I don't.
I might just ask out the boy I like,
And possibly get that job I want someday.
And I will feel pain, but it will be okay.
And I will cry, but that's okay too.
Because life is about crying.
Crying and laughing and smiling through your tears.
Because even though crying is for sad people,
But it is also for mad people,
And for scared people,
And for happy people.
Crying is for all people.
